Wondering how people are going to be caring for their complexions in 2023? Here are the skincare trends we expect to be huge this year.
Every year, we see new skincare trends emerge. Some of them come and go quickly. Others, however, have more staying power because they *actually* work!
Here are four skincare trends to embrace in 2023.
Skinimalism
As the old saying goes, less is more. Many people have now applied this concept to their skincare routines which have led to the birth of the skinimalism movement. It started doing the rounds on
social media in 2021 and, we predict, is still going to be massive in 2023 (and possibly beyond!).
As you may have guessed, it refers to a pared-back routine that only uses the essentials, or taking a minimalist approach to caring for your skin. Followers of this trend mostly use just cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Tinted sunscreen
By now we all know how important it is to wear sunscreen on a daily basis. This protects the skin not just from premature signs of aging and hyperpigmentation but also
skin cancer. SPF doesn’t always play nice under makeup. This is why
tinted sunscreen is one of the biggest current skincare trends now and we believe will stay in 2023.
By using tinted sunscreen, you get the coverage of foundation and the protection of SPF in one handy product. Like regular sunscreen, these should be reapplied every few hours if you are going to be spending time exposed to UV rays.
Niacinamide
One of the most popular skincare trends is using an ingredient, namely niacinamide. Also known as
vitamin B3, it has a range of skincare benefits it can offer almost every skin type. With its long list of abilities and versatile uses, it should come as no surprise that we believe Niacinamide will follow us into our skincare in 2023.
Niacinamide can reduce inflammation and soothe red skin, balance both oily and dry skin types, reduce the appearance of pores, improve hydration, and minimize (and prevent) hyperpigmentation.
Skin cycling
As with most trends, people believed that this craze would come and go. Now, it has fans all over the world! It’s essentially a new way of doing your skincare routine. Instead of using the same products every night, or changing them up every second night, this method requires that you work in a cycle.
You divide your routine into four nights. Night one is exfoliation, night two you use retinol, and then nights three and four are for recovery and
barrier repair. Then you repeat the cycle. With how easy and popular this trend has become, we definitely don’t see this staying behind in 2022.
