Can female pattern baldness be prevented?
Sadly, this condition all boils down to genetics and isn’t really preventable if it is part of your genetic make-up. But there are ways to make sure that your hair stays as strong as possible, such as eating a healthy diet, not brushing too vigorously, avoiding damaging hair treatments and frequent heat-styling, and wearing a hat outdoors to prevent UV damage to your mane.View this post on Instagram
What are your options?
Many people who suffer from female pattern baldness resort to wigs, as they are effective in hiding the situation while still allowing your hair underneath to grow, free of damaging extensions. There are also various treatment options. Your doctor or dermatologist can perform laser therapy or administer platelet-rich plasma that can restore the hair to some degree (although, sadly, not *quite* to its former luster). These can prevent major future hair loss as well. However, it can take up to 12 months to see any significant results. Another way to boost hair growth is to take supplements. These should contain vitamins and minerals such as folic acid and biotin, both of which are hailed for their hair-restoration properties. One study also revealed that a combination of omega-3 fatty acids, omega-6 fatty acids, and antioxidants can help hair to become thicker and healthier.
