Gregory Orlowski, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.D.

Gregory Orlowski, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.D. is a board-certified dermatologist with a strong foundation in both clinical medicine and academic research. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where his doctoral research explored the mechanisms of innate immunity and sterile inflammation. This work informed his passion for treating complex inflammatory skin conditions, particularly hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a field in which he has developed nationally recognized expertise. During his tenure at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Orlowski directed the HS and Neutrophilic Dermatoses Clinic, lectured at national conferences, and published on principled, practical approaches to managing HS in underserved populations.

Before specializing in dermatology, Dr. Orlowski completed a year of training in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, MA. He went on to complete his dermatology residency at UMass, where he was Chief Resident.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Orlowski is a passionate educator. He served as Assistant Director of the Dermatology Residency Program and later as Director of Medical Education in Dermatology for Boston University School of Medicine, where he redesigned and led the dermatology curriculum for three consecutive years. Teaching residents, fellows, and medical students has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of his career, and he brings the same energy and attention to every patient interaction—committed to treating individuals, not just conditions. Dr. Orlowski is excited to bring his clinical and academic expertise to APDerm.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys time with his wife, their two daughters, and two adventurous cats. He also pursues a wide range of interests including basketball, tennis, guitar, martial arts, and stand-up comedy.
