Take a Selfie of Your Biopsy Site

Wrong-site surgery occurs when a surgeon operates on the wrong site. Determining the biopsy site after it has healed can be difficult and errors can be made by both the patient and the physician.

If you can take a selfie of your biopsy site you can help collaborate with your healthcare team for a great outcome.
We appreciate our patients taking the time to send us their selfies which allows us to provide ongoing, exceptional care.

Selfie Tips

-Make sure your head is facing the camera (for head & face shots)
-Take both a front view and a side view
-Take a close-up of the lesion and mark the spot with washable ink
-Get a shot of the lesion next to a ruler to show the size
-Take a shot from a distance to help identify the anatomical location
